New CEBL Unveils Fraser Valley Bandits (VIDEO)

Abbotsford – The CEBL, Canadian Elite Basketball League, announced their Abbotsford based team on Monday.

The Fraser Valley Bandits who will begin play in 2019 at the Abbotsford Centre. This will be the first major sports franchise in the building since the demise of the AHL Abbotsford Heat.

The six team cross country league will start play in May 2019 with a 20 game schedule. Playoffs set for August 2019. The CEBL consists of Fraser Valley, Edmonton, Hamilton, Guelph, Saskatoon and Niagara.

Saskatchewan’s CEBL Team Introduced as the “Rattlers”

Saskatchewan’s entry in the new Canadian Elite Basketball League will be known as the Rattlers.

In making the announcement Tuesday, team president Lee Genier introduced the team name, the logo…which depicts a Prairie rattlesnake…and the colour scheme of green, beige and white. The Saskatchewan Rattlers will be one of six teams starting up the C-E-B-L next May.

Saskatchewan Rattlers unveiled as name of new pro-basketball team

The Canadian Elite Basketball League, a new league, unveiled the teams name and logo at a news conference in the city on Tuesday.

The reception has been tremendous since discussions began to bring a Canadian Elite Basketball League team to Saskatoon, Lee Genier, the president and chief operating officer for CEBLs western operations, said in a statement. Genier previously spent two years running the Saskatchewan Rush, a National Lacrosse League team based in Saskatoon.
