Alliance Sign Montréal Guard Jahenns Manigat for 2024 Season

The Montréal Alliance is pleased to announce the signing of Jahenns Manigat for the 2024 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The six-foot-one guard played the 2023 CEBL season with the Vancouver Bandits where he averaged 6.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes per game. Manigat also played the 2020 season with the Bandits, being named to the All-CEBL Second Team following a 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 30.5 minutes per game season.

 

“Jahenns will bring a veteran presence and extensive experience in the league, which will undoubtedly strengthen our team both on and off the court,” said Alliance General Manager Joel Anthony. “His leadership and knowledge of the game will be invaluable assets as we continue to develop our young talent.”

 

Following the 2023 CEBL season, Manigat joined Vellaznimi in Kosovo’s Superleague where he averaged 9.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 12 games.

 

Born in Montréal, Manigat played his college basketball with the Creighton Bluejays in the NCAA Division I. Captain of the Bluejays for three seasons, Manigat started his last 121 games with the team and ranks sixth in Creighton history with 206 career three-points shots made. In five seasons at Creighton, his team had a record of 28-1 when he made three or more three-point shots, including 26 straight wins.

 

“I’m honoured to join the Alliance and play in my hometown,” said the newest addition to the Alliance roster. “I look forward to contributing to the team’s success and representing Montréal.”

 

Having played professionally for over 10 seasons, Manigat has played at least one season in the top divisions of the Romanian, Cypriot, German, Lithuanian, Hungarian and Polish championships. The guard recorded over 10 points per game in a full season on seven occasions, including a season of 15.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in Cyprus.

 

A native of Montréal, Manigat grew up in Ottawa and played at the Regional Elite Development Academy before joining Creighton University.

 

Manigat is the 8th player to join the Alliance for the 2024 season. The Montréal Alliance is gearing up to host the highly anticipated CEBL Championship Weekend from August 9 to 11 at the Verdun Auditorium. About the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL)

A league created by Canadians for Canadians with a mission to develop Canadian players, coaches, sports executives, and referees, the CEBL boasts the highest percentage of Canadian players of any pro league in the country with 73% of its 2023 rosters being Canadian.
