EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday the signing of G-League experienced guard Davion Warren. The Texas Tech alumni has competed in two G-League seasons, most recently with the Long Island Nets where he averaged 11.6 points per game in 21 appearances. “I’m excited to be a part of the Edmonton family,” said Warren. “I’m looking forward to the loud atmosphere and great attendance by the fans and plan to bring the CEBL Championship back to Edmonton.” This past season, Warren was an efficient scorer off the bench, playing 17.8 minutes per and averaging 11.6 points on 53% field goal shooting. Warren began his pro career in 2022-23 with the College Park Skyhawks, the G-League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks. As a rookie he played 17 games, scoring 5.4 per game. Prior to turning pro, the 6’6” Buffalo NY native played 5 seasons of post secondary, finishing his career with Texas Tech. In his lone year with the Red Raiders, he started 33 out of 37 games, averaging 9.4 points and 3.0 rebounds. His efforts helped his team to a second place Big-12 Tournament finish, a 3rd place ranking in the NCAA tournament and a Sweet 16 appearance. From 2019 - 2021, Warren attended Hampton, where he averaged 21.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Pirates in his second season. His play earned him numerous individual accolades including All-District First Team, Big South First Team All-Conference and Hoopshd.com Big South Player of the Year, and First Team All-Conference. Warren transferred to Hampton after two season with Olney Community College in the NJCAA. Warren and the Stingers will return to the Edmonton EXPO Centre on June 2nd to host the Saskatchewan Rattlers in their home opener. The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday that they have signed Jackson Rowe. The 6-foot-7 forward recently played for Santa Cruz of the NBA G League where he averaged 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.2 steals in 30 minutes per game through 49 games. The Toronto native is no stranger to the CEBL. Rowe played the past two seasons in Ottawa where he averaged 12.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.8 minutes per game over 31 games for the BlackJacks. He was named to the CEBL All-Canadian team in 2023. Rowe played four seasons at CS Fullerton where he posted a career average 12.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1 block and 0.8 steals in 30.4 minutes per game over 111 games. He was named Big West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2017. He was named an All-Big West Honourable Mention honoree in 2018 and 2019. He finished his time with the Titans second all-time in career rebounds (811) and second all-time in career blocks (113) and was named a second-team All-Big West Honoree. The Brampton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday the signing of Greek forward Petros Melissaratos to the roster. Melissaratos has played the entirety of his 12-year professional career in the top two leagues in Greece (Greek A1 Basket League and Greek A2 Basket League), averaging 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 20.2 minutes in 260 games. He brings a veteran presence to the Honey Badgers roster with experience in FIBA 3x3 events and the Greek national team. “Petros brings leadership and experience to our organization with his international resume,” said Jermaine Anderson, general manager and vice president of basketball operations. “We’re confident that he will positively impact our younger players throughout the season.” In 32 games this season with Aons Milonas Athens, Melissaratos is averaging 8.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 21.3 minutes. He finished second on the team in rebounds and blocks (0.6) per game, leading the club to a second-place regular season finish in Greek A2 Basket League. Melissaratos registered six double-doubles in the campaign, including a 22-point and 10-rebound performance January 20 against Papagou. “I’ve played my entire professional journey in Greece. This will be a new experience,” said Melissaratos. “I’m looking forward to arriving in Brampton and I can’t wait to get started.” Melissaratos has made an impact on the defensive side of the ball throughout his career, claiming All-Greek A2 Co-Centre of the Year honors in 2021 as a member of Olympiacos Piraeus. In his second season with the club, the forward averaged 13.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 23.5 minutes in 19 games. In 32 games with AS Kastoria during the 2019 season, Mellisration averaged 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 23.8 minutes, earning All-Greek A2 Defensive Player of the Year. A team leader in scoring and rebounding, he achieved 10+ points in 22 appearances, including two double-doubles. In 2018 with his hometown club, AS Papagou Athens, Melissaratos led the team in minutes played, rebounds, blocks, and scoring, averaging 16.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 32.6 points in 31 contests. He recorded 15 double-double performances, featuring a career-high 30 points on 12-for-18 shooting while grabbing nine offensive rebounds in a win against Doukas on February 3. Melissaratos played in 22 games during his professional debut season with Peristeri BC in 2012. The Athens native has also represented Greece on several occasions including FIBA U18 and U20 European Championships and over twenty FIBA 3x3 events, most recently the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup. The Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday the signing of Canadian Guard Yasiin Joseph for the upcoming 2024 CEBL season. A six-foot-one guard from Ottawa, Ontario, Yasiin Joseph is set to make his return to the Capital after making his professional debut with the Ottawa BlackJacks at the 2020 CEBL Summer Series in St. Catharines. Joseph has also played professionally in several European countries, including France, Hungary, Ukraine, and the Netherlands. Currently concluding his 2023-24 campaign with ALM Evreux in the LNB Pro B in France, Joseph is averaging 12.6 points, 4.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 27.7 minutes in 30 games played this season. He scored 15 or more points in 18 games, including 20 points on January 26 against AVA. He recorded two double-doubles, one on March 29 against Saint Chamond Basket (14 points and a season-high 11 assists) and another on October 17 against Aix Maurienne Savoie Basket (11 points and 10 rebounds). Joseph found significant offensive success during the 2022-23 season, averaging 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 29.6 minutes in 36 games played with Sopron KC in Hungary. He scored a season-high 31 points on April 18 against Zalakeramia-ZTE KK and hit a season-high five three-pointers as part of a 27-point effort on April 12 against the same team. Joseph’s professional career tipped off with the Ottawa BlackJacks during the 2020 CEBL Summer Series in St. Catharines. That year, the BlackJacks did not compete at home, so this will mark Joseph’s debut on home soil at The Arena at TD Place. Collegiately, Joseph won four U SPORTS National Championships and three OUA titles throughout his five-year career from 2015-20 with the Carleton Ravens. As a senior with the team, he averaged 14.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 21.3 minutes in 22 games played and was named an OUA Second Team All-Star. He recorded a career-high 34 points on January 25 against Ryerson. Additionally, he earned honors in 2017-18, being named to the OUA First Team All-Star. He achieved his first career double-double that season, scoring 26 points and tallying 10 assists on February 24 against Laurentian. The Montréal Alliance is pleased to announce the signing of Jahenns Manigat for the 2024 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The six-foot-one guard played the 2023 CEBL season with the Vancouver Bandits where he averaged 6.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes per game. Manigat also played the 2020 season with the Bandits, being named to the All-CEBL Second Team following a 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 30.5 minutes per game season. “Jahenns will bring a veteran presence and extensive experience in the league, which will undoubtedly strengthen our team both on and off the court,” said Alliance General Manager Joel Anthony. “His leadership and knowledge of the game will be invaluable assets as we continue to develop our young talent.” Following the 2023 CEBL season, Manigat joined Vellaznimi in Kosovo’s Superleague where he averaged 9.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 12 games. The Calgary Surge have re-signed six-foot-seven forward Justin Jackson for the 2024 season, the team announced Thursday. Jackson returns to the Surge having recently played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) G-League, averaging 5.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.4 steals, and 15.2 minutes in 9 games played for the Grand Rapids Gold. While playing a majority of his five-year professional career in the G-League with the Lakeland Magic, Orlando Magic, and Long Island Nets, Jackson brings experience from the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) with the London Lightning. “We are pleased to have Justin Jackson back for the 2024 season. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 12.3 minutes per game over 51 games in two seasons with the Iowa State Cyclones. Prior to transferring to Iowa in 2022, Ward played three seasons at Virginia Commonwealth University. During his sophomore year, he ranked second in the Atlantic-10 and 21 nationally in blocked shots per game. He was also named to the 2020-21 Atlantic-10 Conference All-Defensive Team. The St. Thomas native is Scarborough’s fifth player signing of the season. Saskatoon, Sask. - The Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Wednesday that the club signed 6-foot-8 California-native Bryson Williams for the 2024 season. The American forward made his professional debut playing in the NBA Summer League with the Miami Heat. Williams will make his CEBL debut in Saskatchewan, reuniting with Elijah Harkless and Coach Larry Abney after their season with the Ontario Clippers (Los Angeles Clippers affiliate). “Bryson is a major signing for us and is expected to be a significant contributor to the success of our team through both his play and leadership in the locker room,” said General Manager and Vice-President of Basketball Operations, Barry Rawlyk. “His versatility as a power forward will cause difficult match-ups for opponents. I am excited to see his impact this season.” During his professional career, Williams has played two seasons with five teams in the NBA, NBA G League, NBA Summer League, France, and Israel. He has a professional career average of 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.1 assist, and 21.9 minutes while playing in 95 games. After his professional debut with the Miami Heat in the NBA Summer League, Williams signed a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers which led him to play with the Ontario Clippers of the NBA G League during the 2022-23 season. Over two seasons with the Ontario Clippers, he averaged 9.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 23.3 minutes in 57 games appearing in the starting line 34 times. During his most recent season with the Ontario Clippers, Williams led his team in total rebounds (207), ranked second for total blocks (29), and fourth for total points (348). While with the Clippers organization, Williams has had the opportunity to play during the NBA G League Showcase Cup, NBA Summer League, and in the NBA preseason. During the NBA offseason as a rookie, Williams made his international debut in 2023 playing in France with JL Bourg-en-Bresse of LNB Elite averaging 9.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 assist, and 19.0 minutes while shooting 50.9% from the field in seven games. He is currently playing in Israel with Bnei Herzelia in the Israeli BSL averaging 16.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 30.7 minutes in three games. “I am excited to be playing with Saskatchewan this season under Coach Larry Abney and with my teammate Elijah Harkless,” said Williams. “I am looking forward to playing hard, getting better, and ultimately making a lot of noise in the CEBL with the Rattlers this season!” Prior to his professional career, Williams attended Roosevelt High in Fresno, California. As a senior, he averaged 33.8 points and 18.0 rebounds. He led his team to the 2016 Central Section Division III Championship with a performance of 29 points, 23 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in the final game to win. Williams was named North Yosemite League MVP, and Fresno Offensive Player of the Year. The California-native made his NCAA debut with Fresno State University. While playing two seasons with the Bulldogs, he averaged 10.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 22.8 minutes playing 65 games with 58 appearances as a starter. As a sophomore, he was named to the 2018 All-Mountain West Third Team. Finishing his time with Fresno State ranked fifth-most all-time for total points (2302) in Central Section History – most-ever in the city of Fresno. As a junior and a top-five NCAA D1 transfer, he joined UTEP where he played two seasons, averaging 16.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 31.5 minutes while starting in all 56 games. During his time with UTEP, he was recognized as 2020 All-Conference USA First Team, 2020 NABC All-District First Team, and 2021 NABC All-District Second Team. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 25.8 minutes per game over 18 games for Scarborough last season. Walker, a high school phenom, decided to forego collegiate basketball and signed a training camp roster with the Washington Wizards of the NBA in 2021. He played that season for their G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, where he averaged 7.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game over 37 games. The Calgary Surge have signed six-foot-seven forward Justin Lewis for the 2024 season, the team announced Tuesday. Lewis recently played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) G-League, splitting the season between the Salt Lake City Stars and the Windy City Bulls. Lewis averaged 5.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.2 steals, and 14.3 minutes in 29 games played with the Stars. While with the Chicago Bulls during the NBA G-League’s Showcase Cup, he averaged 7.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.6 steals, and 26.5 minutes in 14 games played. The Alliance’s All-Time Points Per Game Leader Returns to Montréal

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday the signing of Edmonton native Ben Krikke. The 6’9” forward has played five seasons in NCAA DI, starting his career with four seasons at Valparaiso followed by a graduate season at Iowa last season. Krikke has also represented Team Canada in the 2017 U16 FIBA Americas Championship and 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup. “I am really excited to be back home in Edmonton and play for such an amazing organization,” said Krikke. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to play in such a great league and compete for a championship.” This past season, Krikke ranked third on the Hawkeyes in scoring and rebounding, notching up 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game on 55% field goal shooting. He eclipsed 20 points on eight occasions out of his 34 games, including scoring 25 points twice. For his efforts, Krikke was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention. In the postseason, he helped the team to a NIT first round win over Kansas State, posting 24 points and 11 boards. Prior to his stint in Iowa, Krikke was a standout at Valparaiso, leading the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring in 2022-23 with 19.4 points per game and earning an All-MVC First Team nod. The two seasons prior saw Kirkke named to All-MVC Third Team after leading his team in scoring both seasons. The Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday the signing of Canadian guards Joel Brown and Kevin Otoo for the upcoming 2024 CEBL season. A six-foot-two guard from Brampton, Ontario, Joel Brown averaged 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 26.1 minutes across 153 games played as a member of two different NCAA teams, including Iona College and the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration in May 2023, he transferred to Iona as a graduate player following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season. With Iona, he scored a season-high 21 points on March 3 against Marist. He made three three-pointers in that game and recorded four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Brown finished his career with the California Golden Bears in durable fashion, playing in 122 of a possible 125 games. As a fourth-year player with the team, Brown anchored California’s backcourt by logging a team-leading 32.6 minutes in all 32 games played. He tallied a season-high 6.9 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game and dished out five or more assists in eight games, maintaining a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio on the season. Prior to university, Brown attended Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, winning a national championship with his Brewster Prep squad in March 2018. Nurhussien, a 6-foot-10 forward, averaged 14.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 29.7 minutes in 21 games in his first season with the Ridgebacks. The Winnipeg Sea Bears have bolstered their frontcourt with the signing of an NBA G League All-Star. The Sea Bears are pleased to announce the signing of Darius Days, a 6-foot-7 forward who recently completed his second season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League. Days, who played four games with the NBA’s Houston Rockets in 2022-23, averaged 16.0 points and 6.9 rebounds across 45 regular season and Showcase games with the Vipers in 2023-24. In March, Days was named the G League Player of the Month after he averaged 25.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal as the Vipers went 8-2 in that span. In 2022-23, he was named second-team all-NBA G League and first-team all-rookie after he burst into the pro game averaging 21.9 points and 9.2 rebounds, while shooting 35.9 per cent from three in 47 games with the Vipers. “Darius brings NBA experience and outstanding three-point shooting to our front court. The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday that they have re-signed forward Kalif Young. The 6-foot-9 forward becomes the team’s second re-signing of the season, joining point guard Cat Barber on the Shooting Stars 2024 roster. The Toronto native averaged 8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1 block and 1.3 steals in 26 minutes per game through 24 games with the Shooting Stars last season. Young’s 11 points, 11 rebound performance assisted the Shooting Stars in defeating Niagara in last year’s CEBL semi-finals en route to their 2023 CEBL Championship. The Providence College graduate played this past season for Anwil of the Polish OBL where he averaged 6.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 blocks in 23 games. Anwil also competed in the Europe Cup where Young averaged 6.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.7 steals in 6 games. The reigning CEBL Champions open their season on May 24 at the Canada Life Centre where they will take on the Winnipeg Sea Bears. The team welcomes the Niagara River Lions to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre on June 1 for their home opener and championship banner drop.
