Lee Genier Named President of Saskatchewan Rattlers

Saskatoon, Sask. - The Saskatchewan Rattlers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Thursday the appointment of Lee Genier as the team’s President.


Genier, who served as President of the Rattlers from 2018 to 2020, returns to Saskatchewan with the championship mentality and emphasis on a fan-focused atmosphere that helped lead the club to the CEBL’s inaugural championship in 2019. Genier also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Western Operations for the CEBL that season, overseeing Saskatchewan, Edmonton and Fraser Valley.


“I am incredibly excited to be back in Saskatchewan leading the Rattlers,” said Rattlers President, Lee Genier. “Looking forward to bringing the energy to our incredible fans across the province.”


Prior to the CEBL, his sports leadership experience includes 19 years with the Calgary Stampeders, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Business Operations and was part of three Grey Cups. He spent two years running the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League where he was named NLL Executive of the Year and won a NLL Championship in 2016, and spent a term on the Board of Directors of Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton through the 2014 Olympic Winter Games where Canada captured gold in Bobsleigh.


More recently, Genier served as Strategic Advisor for Tewaaraton Lacrosse League (TLL) in 2021. In 2022, Genier brought his wealth of experience in the CFL, NHL, NLL, CPL, CEBL, and Olympics as Chief Operating Officer of the popular Sports Talk Show, “The Rod Pedersen Show”. 


The Rattlers announced their full 2024 schedule last Tuesday, which features a full 20-game slate with one potential home playoff game and Championship Weekend (CW24) happening in Montréal, QC from August 9-11, 2024
.


General public and returning season ticket members can claim their seats for the entire Rattlers 2024 season by using
Account Manager. Season tickets range from $175 in the value section to $1,100 for courtside row 1. All tickets can also be purchased through the Rattlers Front Office (306) 244-2181, Saskatchewan Rattlers website, or via Ticketmaster. Single game tickets will be available later this spring. About the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL)


A league created by Canadians for Canadians with a mission to develop Canadian players, coaches, sports executives, and referees, the CEBL boasts the highest percentage of Canadian players of any pro league in the country with 73% of its 2023 rosters being Canadian. Players bring experience from the NBA, NBA G League, top international pro leagues, the Canadian National team program, and top NCAA programs as well as U SPORTS. Fourteen players have signed NBA contracts following a CEBL season, and numerous CEBL players attend NBA G League training camps every year. The CEBL season runs from May through August.
