Appiah Returns as Alliance Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel for 2023 Season

MONTRÉAL, QC – The Montréal Alliance announced Friday that Ibrahim Appiah will return as assistant general manager and director of player personnel for the 2023 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season. Appiah has held both positions since the 2022 CEBL season and will work alongside newly appointed assistant general manager in charge of strategy and development, Charles Dubé-Brais, in assisting general manager Joel Anthony.


“Ibrahim has been a key contributor in our front office, player development and roster building,” said Joel Anthony, general manager of the Alliance. “We are happy to have him continue working with us in the future.”


Appiah was considered by many to be one of Canada’s top prospects after graduating from Champlain College St-Lambert and went on to play at High Point University, the University of West Alabama and Simon Fraser University. Appiah served as assistant coach and advisor for various QC United basketball teams where he mentored and developed top emerging talent in the province of Québec. He also served as an assistant coach and advisor at the Alma Academy in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), where he played a key role in developing many athletes who would go on to play in the NCAA’s Division 1, top U Sports programs, in the CEBL and professionally abroad. Appiah coached and took on the role of manager for Chris Boucher of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors. 


About the Montréal Alliance

The Montréal Alliance is a professional basketball team competing in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The team is entering its second season in the CEBL and plays all its home games at the Verdun Auditorium. The CEBL season runs from May to August and is comprised of 10 home games and 10 away games.
