May 13, 2023

The Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Saturday that they have signed Toronto guard Daniel Mullings. Mullings, a seven-year pro, has a career average 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.2 steals in 25.7 minutes per game through 233 games

“Daniel is a veteran player in this league and he has proven that he impacts every team that he has played on,” said general manager Brady Heslip. “We are excited that he is finally able to return home and represent Scarborough on his home turf. Daniel is a swiss army knife in this league as he impacts the game in multiple ways, we expect him to have a big impact for us this season.”

Mullings, who has played all over the world, is no stranger to the CEBL. He suited up for the Niagara River Lions the past three seasons where he averaged 9.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals in 25.1 minutes per game through 41 cumulative games. The New Mexico State Aggie recently dressed for the Brampton Honey Badgers for two games during the Basketball Champions League Americas where he scored a total of seven points and grabbed 3 rebounds.

The Shooting Stars open training camp May 18 at Royal Crown Academic school in preparation for their season opener May 26 at the CAA Centre, in a rematch of last year’s CEBL championship game versus the Brampton Honey Badgers. Scarborough welcomes the Winnipeg Sea Bears to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre for their first home game on June 2.
